Film maker & Wildlife photographer

Vinod Bartakke is a fulltime wildlife photographer and an independent film maker.
He finds happiness roaming in the wilderness. He has travelled to wildlife sanctuaries and national parks across the country to observe and photograph the denizens of the Indian jungles. In his free time, he makes sure to visit wildlife hotspots in and around Pune. He posts as @vinodbartakke on Instagram.

Awards, Citations & Exhibitions: Finalist for NHM Wildlife Photographer of the year (2010 & 2015), Special Mention at Burrard-Lucas Wildphoto 2016 photo contest. Conducted photography workshops and judged quite a few photography/filming contests

Visits Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh every year in search of the elusive Snow Leopard. Has made a short film on Kibber wildlife sanctuary, Himachal Pradesh showcasing the rare animals of this remote, high altitude sanctuary.

Exhibition Rules and Guidelines

Rules and Regulations

Mandatory film title in Marathi, Hindi, or English.

Organizers can disqualify attempts to influence the judging process.

Organizing team, sponsors, and partners cannot participate.

Breach of rules or ethical standards leads to disqualification.

Non-transferable prizes.

In case of a tie, cash prize divided equally among winners.

No cancellations or withdrawals after registration.

Disputes under Pune jurisdiction.

All work must be original; plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

The wildlife filmmaking clip must be filmed exclusively within the borders of India.

Open to Indian citizens; proof of citizenship may be requested.

Do I need copyright ownership for all content in my film?
All content should be original or properly licensed. We're not responsible for unauthorized content.

Can I enter if my film has been submitted to other festivals?
Yes, exclusivity is not required.

Can I submit a film already screened in theaters or on TV?
Yes, past screenings don't affect eligibility. You're responsible for permissions.

Can I submit a film with non-English narration?
Yes, but provide Marathi, Hindi, or English subtitles or English voiceover.

Are there prizes?
Yes, 1st Prize: Rs.10,000 + Trophy, 2nd Prize: Rs.7,500 + Trophy, 3rd Prize: Rs.5,000 + Trophy. We're looking for sponsorship to increase prizes.

What's the entry fee?
Participants pay a non-refundable fee of Rs.1,500.

Can I withdraw my film?
Yes, but fees are non-refundable.

Filmmakers must not endanger wildlife.

Entries achieved unethically will be disqualified.

Technical Specifications

What is your preferred submission format?
For all categories, we need you to submit a link to the film – YouTube/Vimeo etc. If it is a private/protected link, provide the password too.
What information should I submit along with my film?
In addition to the video itself, you must complete the submission form and provide a title, description, production and credit details.
We request that you do not send any extra materials such as promotional materials, photos or press kits unless requested.
Can I change my information after submitting it?
You have time until the contest closes – at 11:59 PM (India time - UTC + 05:30) on Tuesday, 31 October 2023 – to amend entry information after submitting it. Once the contest closes, all the information saved on your profile is automatically accepted as your final submission.
What will be the duration of the shoot?
The Duration has to be: 7 to 10 minutes
What will be the shoot file format?
The file formats can be: 1920x1080, 1280x720, 4K

Judging

What is the judging process?
All submissions received by the entry deadline will be reviewed by members of the jury.The best films will be shortlisted for the final round of judging, from which the final winners will be decided.
The jury reserves the right to declare a tie in any of the prizes or change the number of prizes being awarded.
If the film is shortlisted for the final round, the participant will be notified.
When will I be notified in advance if I have won a prize?
While you won’t find out exactly what you have won, you will be informed if you are among the winners.
Can I get feedback on my film?
We discourage participants from writing to the jury members for feedback until the final results are announced.
Will my film be screened at the Nature in exhibition on them "50 years of Project ?"
If your film is one of the winning entries, depending on the film length and the Festival schedule, it may be screened to delegates and public audiences. The jury may also select some final shortlisted films for this screening. In such an event, you will be asked to provide a high-quality screening copy.
What are the benefits of entering the Film Awards in this event ?
There are many benefits to entering the Jividha's Film Awards: Event giving you the opportunity to showcase your work to industry professionals and wildlife film enthusiasts.
How will the organisers and sponsors engage with me if my film wins?
The organiser of the contest will be allowed to use the winning and shortlisted films, or their extracts in the promotion of the contest and the festival. For any other use, the organisers will contact the filmmakers. Jividha Trust will have the right to use the films or any other data shared by the participant for one year and may engage the winning filmmaker for promotional activities.
